Are You Kind of "People Pleaser"???
Assalamu'alaikum Loudlyyy! Hii again, Dzi's here. It's been a while since I introduce you to this blog media and now I will share my thought on issue "people pleaser"
A people pleaser is someone who prioritizes others' needs and desires over their own, often seeking approval or avoiding conflict at their own expense. "Is that okay to help someone? What's matter about helping someone? Helping someone is a good things and left good deeds too" Being a people pleaser isn't inherently negative; helping others is a noble trait that contributes to the well-being of society. However, the matter starting when you ignorance your capacity in helping someone, the matter starting when you push yourself a little too hard, and the bad things happened when you normalize it, at the end of the day you feel like you loosing something in yourself, you loose your life desire.
Basic WHY someone becoming "people pleaser":
- Afraid of Losing Friends: Human beings are inherently social creatures, and the fear of losing friends or companionship can be a powerful motivator. Friendship provides emotional support, companionship, and a sense of belonging. However, when this fear becomes overwhelming, individuals may prioritize pleasing others over their own well-being, sacrificing their own needs and desires to maintain relationship.
- Desire to Be Extraordinary: Some people seek validation and recognition by going above and beyond to please others. They may believe that by constantly striving to meet others' expectations and exceed standards, they will stand out and be admired. However, this pursuit of external validation can lead to burnout and a loss of authenticity as individuals prioritize others' opinions over their own values and needs.
- Empathetic Nature: Some individuals are naturally empathetic and sensitive to the emotions of others. They may feel compelled to help or please others out of a genuine desire to alleviate suffering or discomfort. However, when taken to an extreme, this can lead to neglecting one's own needs and boundaries, resulting in emotional exhaustion and resentment.
- "I Can Handle All of This" Principle: Certain individuals may adopt a belief that they are capable of handling any challenge or responsibility that comes their way. While self-confidence and resilience are valuable traits, this mindset can lead to overcommitment and a reluctance to ask for help. It's essential to recognize one's limitations and prioritize self-care to prevent burnout and maintain overall well-being.
- Uncertainty and Lack of Direction: Sometimes, people become people pleasers simply because they are unsure of what they want or how to assert themselves. They may lack clear goals or direction in life, leading them to prioritize the needs and expectations of others over their own. This can result in a loss of identity and fulfillment as individuals struggle to define their own values and aspirations.
Some HOW not to be a "people pleaser":
Find your circle: Surround yourself with supportive individuals who value you for who you are, rather than for what you can do for them. Building a strong support network can provide validation and encouragement to prioritize your own needs.
Love being yourself: Embrace your uniqueness and celebrate your individuality. Cultivate self-love and acceptance, recognizing that you are worthy of respect and consideration just as you are.
Appreciate the little things: Practice gratitude for the blessings in your life, no matter how small. By focusing on the positives, you can shift your perspective away from constantly seeking external validation.
Be a good planner: Develop effective time management and organizational skills to better prioritize your commitments and responsibilities. By planning ahead and setting boundaries, you can avoid overextending yourself and feeling overwhelmed.
Make it broader: Explore new interests, hobbies, or experiences that challenge you to step outside your comfort zone. Engaging in diverse activities can expand your horizons, boost your confidence, and help you discover new passions.
By implementing these strategies, we can learn to prioritize our own well-being while still making meaningful contributions to the lives of others. Remember, it's okay to say no and set boundaries. Your happiness and fulfillment matter just as much as anyone else's.
